New Website Provides Washington State Farmers with an Alternative for Livestock Mortality Disposal A new website www.mortcompost.info is now available that provides information and resources for farmers, county extension agents, university faculty, and the general public about on-farm mortality composting. On-farm composting is an environmentally and economically sound alternative to conventional methods of carcass disposal. A full grown cow can be fully composted in 2 to 4 months with minimal cost, labor, and equipment.
